Sustainability

Explore the demands of a working farm, and learn about sustainability practices, growing food, environmental conservation and how it all works together!

What to Expect

Students will attend Kelley Farm once per week following dismissal from school and participate in various activities on the property over the course of 3 hours. In that time, they will spend time with horses, work on creative projects, and learn about farm work and sustainability.

Kids will be grouped in similar age ranges, offered for ages 8-18.

Horseback riding is offered in a non-traditional way, students will begin on the ground and learn horsemanship skills before getting into the saddle. Education and participation in all aspects of horsemanship and horse care is prioritized. All learning will be science-based, both in the pasture and in the "classroom."

The purpose of the after school program is to create a community for the students that offers a safe and exciting space to blossom into their most authentic selves.

Offering PA/PD/Teacher conference day sessions where students are off school but parents are still working - less horse focused, more art and nature based.

Meet Milan Minos

Even as a kid, I knew that the way I wanted to work with horses was unusual, and that the type of program I was after did not yet exist.

I wanted a space where I could find a community of equally horse-obsessed kids who wanted to learn anything and everything they could about horses, and have a mentor who was knowledgeable and encouraging.

I wanted to explore deeper relationships with horses and a gentler approach to training than I had been exposed to.
